Gas is $1.98 a gallon here Not that it kept me from driving before and now I work closer than ever to my home but I had to do a double take when I seen the sign!
Only went by one filling station today. $2.39 at the BP station. If only my truck was fixed I'd make a few quick trips up north with a few loads of crap. Sure beats $4.00 a gallon.
Lowest here was $1.87 a couple of days ago. That station might be lower now. Most are in the $1.94 to $1.99 range.
Haven't been to town since Tuesday, but saw 215.9 then. May be below 2.00 by the time I go back to work on Monday.
I wonder if we're going to start seeing it at $1.39ish. It was around $2.40 today by the Brookville exit of I-80...
When I worked part time in a filling station it was 32.9 for 100 octaine. Seems like every week there was a gas war and it would drop as low as 19.9. Wonder if it will go that low again? Considering the taxes are probably over $1.00 a gallon I doubt it.:banghead3: I'm happy when it's below $4.00.
No. Of the 50 states, the one with the lowest fuel tax rate is Alaska at 8 cents per gallon, and the highest is New York, at just over 50 cents per gallon. http://taxfoundation.org/article/state-gasoline-tax-rates-2009-2013 I don't think we'll see gas at 32.9 cents per gallon again, but we might see $1.50. If it ever does go that low, in inflation-adjusted terms, that would be an almost historic low as it would be equal to, for example, about 28 cents per gallon in 1972.
Today in Hardy, VA Regular was $1.93 (1.90 with Kroger card). With all the grocery shopping my wife has done lately, we built up an additional 40 Cent per Gallon discount. Sure is nice... Bill
Same station as my 1st post is at $1.89 today. The cheapest in town, most are holding steady at $1.99 and $2.00 so not all are below $2.00 yet, but like I said , it didn't stop me from driving before but at this rate I won't feel bad putting under $3 a gallon Premium in the '55 Chevy or 1tiredad's 9 mile to the gallon Malibu. May drive them to work once in a while for a change of pace.
