Would have been better if you had gotten pic of the dash VIN..... That tag you have pic of says: L Dart H High price (for car line) 2 two door 3 Hardtop An original SS Dart would read as: L dart O Optional (meaning Hemi car for car line) 2 Two door 3 hardtop In the interior pic shows roll down windows.. Originals did not have this feature. A strap was used. The intake on the motor is a new style two piece intake.. Original intake were one piece. Car in pic has original Dart wheel openings in rear.. Original SS Dart had enlarged openings in rear.. Car in pic has hood hinges.. Original SS Dart had lift off fiber hood, no hinges..
Sure is nice, I believe it's a very nice clone. The real ones left the factory in this colour set up and they all had this distinctive larger rear wheel well opening. I believe (?) the hood and front fenders were aluminum also.
Thanks for the info, guys. That's what I wanted to know... So it was probably a Dart 270 with a slant 6 in it originally?
You never know about the engine, as a kid one of my cousins had one of these, can't remember the year but I do remember it was a 318 car as He and my dad were comparing the 1980 318 to my cousins with no smog etc. After moving to the island in 82 one of the first friends a met had one and it was a 273 car, again I can't remember the year.
Hood and fenders = FIBERGLASS Seats are A100 (light truck) on alum brackets.. Windows are Corning Glass (approx 60% as thick as production glass).. Rear is 8 3/4 for auto and Dana 60 for manual.. No heater.. No insulation.. and firewall and floor seams are fully welded.. Inner fender wells (front) were hammered out for valve cover clearance.. The car in pic was a gold with gold interior Dart 270 with a 273 cu in motor/ auto trans..
I guess I'm a little late for this one. I'm still trying to catch up after four days at the Mopar show in Carlisle last weekend. I agree with what the others have said, but it is a nice car and I'm sure its scary fast.
