Although this would not be for my wagons, I thought to post it here for the reason that this may(?) help some with older wagons with freezer box heat, etc, etc.

A friend just bout one of these for his non liciened rock crawler for the winter. He has not instaled it yet and will bring it to work tommorow so I can see it. I am very interested in this for my old freezer box truck and maybe for my honeys old mini van that had sqwat for heat from day one.

Does anyone have any experience etc with one of these units?

:biglaugh: Either Tedy or fannie sent this to me before.....I actually like the song. I've seen snow, lots of it. I've felt cold. Too much. The only time I want to see frost is when I open the fridge and get an ice cold beer and some ice from the freezer!:2_thumbs_up_-_anima

i have seen these around when I lived in utah. guys would put them in their jeeps for the winter runs a local 4x4 shop would put on. From talking to several people I got the basics of what to look for in an aftermarket heater. If it is totaly electric it's like rolling the dice weither it will keep your warm. if it plumbs in like a stock heater core it is the best way to go. again this is only what i have gathered making small talk with people

Those look like heater hose nipples sticking out. In car magazines I've seen several different styles of these heaters. Most are expensive. I've seen bolt on AC-heat combos for not a lot more. We have Vintage Aire heat-AC to put in our wagon if we ever get around to it. :) In the good old days you could go to a junk yard and get those small heaters with a fan which were simply bolted under dashes of old cars. I still think it would be cheap and easy to get a small modern heater core and add a fan and shroud. There are many different types of control valves and shut offs. Electric, vacuum, and cable. People depend on ready made stuff nowdays and pay way too much for it! What happened to the real car guys?

Seems like J C Whitney sells add-on heaters. I have seen some that had defroster hose provisions which would be great for Winter.
