Hey all, having realised I can't rid myself of the wagon obsession, I thought I'd sign up.
I'm over here in England, currently wagon-less (unless you count my daily driver Mercedes) and running a 68 Firebird. But 2014 is hopefully the year of the wagon, ideally a 60s GM product.
I'm looking forward to meeting you all in this virtual world.

So------ your bigidea is to buy a station wagon and make the world a better place? Well good luck on that. Just where in the world in England are you hiding? I have a few friends and relatives wandering around someplace over there in the moores and valeys.

Thanks guys, I'm in Yorkshire, the north of England and it's cold and wet right now and yup, if everybody drove a wagon, the world would be a better place right? :yup:

I thought Blackpoole was in the North. Son's wife and family are from there. That's a vacation area from what I heard.
Yorkshire is where they invented pudding.

Yes, Blackpool is in the north. Have friends there and going over in a couple of months. The north is also where the best beer and scenery is! We get over to the US every couple of years and always have a fantastic time.
The price of gas is a killer here. It didn't stop me putting together my Firebird with a big inch motor though, it drinks it like...:drink: Thanks for the warm welcome.

Enjoy the forum and good luck finding a nice wagon.

I've found out after drinking enough beer the scenery begins to look better even in the worst pub. Those Blackpoole people sure know how to drink wine!

Welcome to the nuthouse we call home! I realize the price of petrol is ruinous over there, but there is something you can do to mitigate that. Get the engine done for torque then get the gearing sorted and you will be surprised how far a litre of petrol will go! If you do go G.M., go Buick. Their engines were the ones with the most torque, and it is possible to get very good fuel consumption out of them. Under 10 litres per 100 k is quite attainable.
