    Hey guys,

What's the torque number for the plugs? (88 colony park) This thing drips oil like no one's business. Every 8 hour shift it leaks put about half a damn quart. It has new rings too, maybe the pan gasket has rotted out or something..

The plug should have a copper ring surrounding it. You could heat up the ring with a torch, to soften it back up again, if it isn't otherwise damaged. A new ring is always better, for making sure. Placing a sheet of cardboard under the pan should pinpoint where the oil loss originated, if the plug isn't the cause. Hand tight should be enough, for the plug. You don't want to over-tighten it. The oil it's holding isn't under any pressure exceeding gravitational

I replaced whatever nylon ring there was, man Ford really cheapest out on a lot of things in the 80s. At least it wasn't a composite type of gasket lol

If it's nylon, it should crack, by overtightening. I'd see about getting a copper ring. It doesen't have to be Ford. Any brand will work, as long as the inside diameter is equivalent

I split the difference on the spec. And don't forget, there are two of them, one at the front, one under. I drain the under one first, then the front; otherwise, the oil stream hits the sway bar, makes a mess.
