I sold a tailgate tonight and went to meet the buyer at a half-way spot. Threw the tailgate in the Country Squire and off I went. The tailgate buyer couldn't help but drool over the wagon as he was pulling the truck tailgate out of the car! We talked for couple of minutes and then he left, as I went inside for coffee. I come out and a guy is commenting on how cool the Ford is, not knowing then that I owned it. He goes on for a couple of minutes how "my Dad had one in the early '80s and we'd ride in that way-back seat" as he called it. Then another guy walks past and gives the approval nod and a thumbs-up. Still not in the car yet! Then, as I pull out of the lot and up to the light, a cop pulls up and gives me his approval, as well..."you don't see those every day!"...Yes, I know!
That's awesome. Good to hear there are still a few folks with good taste in automobiles. Congratulations on the compliments, were you able to get your head out of the car when you got home?
It was tough, getting the car AND my giant head in the garage! Some days I want to sell the Country Squire, and other days I'm glad I still drive it daily!
I honestly wish I still had my Colony Park, crummy though it looked. Even if I was hauling crap in the back, I would still get the same comments from onlookers.
