spare the rod...spoil the child. if i were growing up today my mom would be in jail for child abuse. i knew if i stepped out of line there would be pain. and i feel because of that, i am an honest god fearing man. whats so bad about being sent to your room? you have ps3, cable, telephone, where is the punishment.
Mine too! But my dad was the silent FORCE. One look is all it took. Mom was far more suited to torturing than dad. She ranted and wasted her anger on us 5 kids. Dad just raised the RH eyebrow and got us settled down REAL FAST. He only used the strap once on me. And one of my sisters confessed after he took her out for an icecream cone and a movie to make up for threatening her with the strap. I've never seen clean floors like she did on her hands and knees for 6 months after that. We were 9 years old. He was so pissed at being conned that he doubted her whenever she said more than YES or NO, until she got married, and divorced a few times...
Oh yea I remember the "strap". One of Dad's old belts. Mom was the swinger of the strap. Like Norm's Dad mine had a look. I inherited the "look". It's worked with my kids and my Navy kids at work. Once you have the "look" it works in many situations. Quite useful.
Bet the parents put him up to it,cause no parent would give their child a beer and teach him to steal if they really love their children. Some people should not be allowed to reproduce.
