I pulled out the A/C control module on the 60 Parkwood. Somehow I managed to pull off three of the connections on the back of the ignition switch. I can't figure out the correct way to put them back. There are three wires, a red wire which is hot, a brown and a violet. The wagon will start if I attach the red wire on the bottom, but it won't shut off. 20181030_170656.jpg I'm getting nothing when I switch the key to ACC.
I do a lot of wrenching, but electricity is not my strong suit. I have browsed the internet but can't find the wiring diagram for my switch.

I might have it in my wiring diagram book, but you'll have to wait for me to get home tomorrow afternoon/evening.

My book goes back to '64, but I think the ignition wiring's the same. IMG_20181031_194838565.jpg

That looks like an aftermarket replacement switch.
I think you're going to have to read the terminal identification on the plastic base of the switch and connect the wires accordingly.

    Typical GM color coding:
    -purple to the starter solenoid
-pink is +12V feed to fuse block, hot when the ignition switch is on "Run" position
-Brown or tan is (I think) Accessory feed (hot in Accessory and Run position)
    - large red wire is +12V from the battery (Always hot, feeds the ignition switch from the battery)

Here's a link to the 1960 Chevy full size wiring diagram: http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/electrical/wiring/pdf/60car.pdf

    Hope that helps...

I'll have to look at it tomorrow. Yesterday it rained all day...today I have a Dr. Appointment.
It is an aftermarket switch. I need to crawl back under there and take a picture of the other side so I can see what the terminal IDs are. One other thing. I was moving the connections around to see if I would be lucky enough to get it right . I found that it would start with the red (hot) wire on "IGN" but it would not shut off with the key. So to put it away, I started it with the red wire on then pulled the wire off after I put the wagon away. BTW the last time it did this the diode on the alternator was blown...

Yeah, that's not a good idea to do that.

I was wondering why it didn't look right, and didn't match the 'configuration' on the diagram.

Well, it turns out that the brown wire was the lead from the fuel tank. That's why I couldn't figure out where it went. I finally got it connected and everything is working perfectly. Thanks to all who gave me help. BTW, there are no numbers on the switch. It just says made in Mexico . There's 11 connections. There is a single connector between ACC & IGN with no I'd on it.

Thanks Silver... Not trying to brag, I have a half dozen cars...Audi A8L, MB CLS 550, 62 & 99 Corvette, 86 Landcruiser. But the car that brings me the greatest pleasure is the Wagon. I had a difficult day with the doctor the other day, but taking the Wagon out today gave me a sense of JOY. Best XMas gift ever!

That's great to hear. Even though I now have a 2000 Buick sedan, somewhat loaded, as my current DD, I loved driving my Ranchero, Babe, as my DD. I just need to continue to repair her, get problems solved, so that when the time comes that I can afford it, I'll get her body work and paint done.
