Hi While I have hardly posted since joining 2 years ago, I am on this at least 3 times a week looking for a Colony Park that is reasonable, good shape etc. Well finally got 1 (I think) originally bid on this car back in 2015 when it was in New Jersey, then went to buy it from a dealer in MO, but missed then it pooped up on ebay. paid more than I wanted too but maybe the 3rd time is the charm. If anyone out there knows anything about this car would appreciate the feed back and even your opinions good and bad. the car:http://www.ebay.com/itm/302171228922?ul_noapp=true
Tomorrow money wires in then working out transport fro outside St. Louis back to VA - would drive it back but have no time Hope that it is all (close) to what I believe - bought sight unseen - OMG
Here is the car back in NJ in 2015 http://classicvehicleslist.com/merc...park-wagon-country-squire-ltd-roadmaster.html
Hey man, that looks reeeeeeal nice. I don't think you paid to much considering everything is as nice as it looks. I got an 87 and I've never seen one like it. Gets a lot of thumbs up. One old guy (looked to be 70's or 80's) approached me looked it over real good and said "wow! I didn't know Lincoln made a station wagon!!!" Mine needs a lot of "extras" trim and etc.. and it's all hard to find. Luckily yours is so nice I won't be competeing with you over parts!!! You and I might be the only fellas with this body style Cp on this forum. Congrats on the new find. Be sure to tell us how it goes. I'm excited!
Thanks Grizz this will be 2nd Colony; 1st 1989 - blk with red and an 82 Crown Vic Navy with red think this will be my 7th wagon total -
Believe to car went from NJ to this person http://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-Mercur...nNYt1d3EVPNw%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc#viTabs_0 Ended: Aug 16, 2015 , 10:00PM Current bid: US $4,100.00 shipping Reserve price not met then went to a car dealer in Florissant, MO - ad is gone, then back to eBay where I got it Original Owner had the car from 85 to 2007; then the next till Jan 2015 (1st eBay) and so on -
I can understand your delivery situation. My 'Way-Back Machine' came from Wisconsin in December, 2012. If it had been another time of year I would have flown in and driven it home. No way was I going to do that in the middle of winter.
That is gorgeous. Far, far better looking than my sickly white '83 with gold hood and driver's door. BTW, I have a full set of the newer Msrcury center caps for those turbines. If you're interested, they're here: http://www.stationwagonforums.com/f...-marq-country-squire-colony-park-parts.30862/ Just send me a PM if you're interested. But if you see anything else you think you might want/need, I need to update the thread as to what I currently have left (just filled an order today).
MAK sometimes the hunt and the chase are well worth it. That wagon looks great at whatever price you had to give and no matter how long you've been chasing it. Now you will appreciate it even more. Let us know all about the wagon and your plans.
I just realized: the house in the background reminds me of the house used in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, that the Nearys lived in. Mmmm, thinking of Teri Garr in a nightie, trying to wrangle the children and firing up the family wagon.
