Anyone got any good ideas? I'm considering of just taking out and pressure washing the carpeting in my 88 Colony park.
Pressure washer or a steam cleaner. I've also had good luck with a soft bristle scrub brush and a bucket of water with some Oxi-Clean diluted in it. A lot depends on how bad it is and how clean you want to make it. You probably won't make it look brand new, but it should look pretty decent.
i need me some bdsm time with teh carpets... but i just want to get it clean and soft, like 70's chee-z soft carpeting
Pull the seats, steam clean them. Pressure washing them will soak them through and whatever crunge is in them, a good measure of it will be pushed in, not across. Pressure washing should be a last resort.
I wouldn't try a pressure washer on carpets. If there is a professional home carpet cleaner around stop by and see if they might do it on their off day, in the vehicle. Or buy a pressure can of spray foam carpet cleaner and try a section hidden under a floor mat.
I use Folex Carpet Spot remover for all carpet cleaning chores; spray, let is sit for a couple of minutes, then brush; to me truly amazing stuff and you get it at Home Depot; takes care of odors too.
This is America. Everything from red clay, river mud, to sand of every color and texture. Add to that burgers, fries, diet soda, cheap beer, wine, and what comes up after the birthday party.
