Good day to you all :)
My name is Vadim, i'm 22, from Tallinn, Estonia.
Got my Caprice for 1300 usd half a year ago. It has 350 Oldsmobile Diesel(DX block) inside with the TH200. Yes, in 88 there were no diesel produced anymore, but the engine is from another caprice from '85.
It needs a total rebuilt of the motor and transmission, but i'm a poor student, so doing my best to keep it going with low funds.
5 Power windows, power seat, 6 seats (the seat in the trunk is gone before me, but it was there - seatbelts are on their places), The front window is broken by some drunk homeless guys this winter. Lots of things needs to be done. There's about 5-10 Caprice Estates in our small country, and i think i'm the only one, who drives it everyday :) All seals - dead, leaks everywhere, but no smoke, runs great in winter (first minute working on a half of cylinders because the glow plugs needs to be replaced too). Eats abt a liter of oil per 500km
here's a video of how i'm starting it in cold winter, with full dead batteries (replaced), so i had to give it a power from my other car :)
There are NO spare part for 5,7 diesel in our country at all
and all that is - very expensive, most of parts can get from Finland only - couple hours by the vessel.

If you need parts for it , say something. Wire the few dollars they will run to someone out here and they can be shipped. Might take a week to get to you, but its better to wait a week for a part you need then get gauged going elsewhere. Parts for it is relatively cheap. Except the transmission, thats going to be expensive even here.

In this day and age you got nads of steel driving around with a US flag like that. Half the world hates us.

    :Welcome: and cool ride:dance:
my first wife had a 1978 caprice wagon, that color but the body was very rusty so i pick up a white 1982 caprice with blown 5.7 diesel and I swap her complete drive train of of the 78 wagon. that was in 1989!

Awesome wagon. Keep that Diesel running! There isn't much love for them, but mine always served me well. Here is a website with a small, but dedicated group of 350 Diesel fans. The message board is a bit low traffic, but decent with content. http://www.olds-diesel.com/

    Hello Vadim:

I ship used truck tyres to Belarus on a regular base, and we have loads of Caprice parts here in the Netherlands.

So if you have relatives or friends in Belarus willing to send the parts to you in Estonia, I can get those parts by truck to Navapolack, Belarus without charging you for the shipping costs.
