    Hello,

I have made deal about one stw that is in running condition and second that is basically frame and body, no engine, tranny, axels... But it has most of the trim needed to make look OK with a donor car.

I am interreseted to know where to find data where and and how many actually prodeuced. Some sources say that only like 14pcs made! here:
    http://www.cadillacstationwagon.com/

Is this reliable information? I will post pictures (or rather a link to them) in near future. I Will also post VINs if they tell something new. Interesting point is that other one is HT and other is normal 4d.

Did i find something good or just the normal stuff ?

First, there is no such thing as a 'normal' Cadillac wagon. You found something special times two. The 'normal' 4 door one is likely a Fleetwood based wagon. The hardtop is the rarer, being based on the Sedan de Ville 4 door hardtop. That one is something very unusual, and very, very nice! Please post pics of both as soon as you can! It sounds like the one that is a frame and body is very much savable with a good donor car, which should not be that difficult to find. Cadillac engines are out there, as are the Turbo 400 transmissions to go behind it. You could also have a 200R4 overdrive built up to take the torque and have that for some added fuel economy. The back axle should be a fairly standard piece that any of the Olds 98, Buick Electra and other Cadillac models can donate to the cause. Front end pieces are pretty standard full sized G.M. as well, so should be easy to find.

Welcome to the nut house, by the way. Sounds like you will fit in here just perfectly!

Its in rough condition... But I am trying to figure out how much it worth. Idea is to make a plan on how good do i want to make it. Now anything done to it basically good.

You are aware that the 472 can be replaced by the 500 or even a late 425 - all the same block.
PM me for a 'killer' 500 combo.
And the biggest gear you could get was a 3:23 - their 'performance' ratio!

At the moment more information is needed about the cars. On the plates it says body by fisher. This propably means that the body was modified somewhere else than on the factoryline.

Is there anyone owning a similar car on the forum? or having info as literature or photos?

That is one BEAUTIFUL wagon, with the conversion done right! In terms of monetary value, it is not worth huge dollars, but in terms of rarity and workmanship, it is incredible! Certainly not something you see every day, and not even every year!

    Welcome to the SWF, Virtanen.

That should be a fairly interesting project. I wish we had more information for you on Cadillac wagons. I would have just referred you to that Cadillac wagon site you already know about. Chances are good that one or both of your wagons are already pictured there. Text indicates that the website owner has a '69 Cadillac wagon, very similar to yours. You might wagon to correspond with him. He might have some further information not on the web site.

Don't know who would have done the conversion (that site owner probably knows...) 'Fisher Body' is a GM in-house firm charged with the body-building. The wagon conversion company would have been a separate, outside firm. It's obvious they used all GM components though - same 'wagon' parts you would have found on any full-sized GM wagon of that period ('65 - '70) Rear roof section, quarter side glass, tail gate and glass, rear floor pan, gas tank, etc. The rear bumper is probably a Cadillac item, but modified.

    Good luck with your project.
