Buick may indeed sell a wagon soon. Won't have 'wood' on it, though......

I just couldn't see going to Home Depot and picking up some drywall, a few bags of mulch and a water heater in that wannabe wagon thing.
"Plastic Wood" may not be classy but "Faux Woodgrain Applique" is.:D

I don't mind the aerodynamics of it, but honestly now; for my personal taste (mind you) I don't see enough faux wood paneling. I'd prefer there to be more near the bottoms of the doors and under the headlights.

I've driven an Enclave. It's a very nice SUV. Fairly large (has a 3rd seat). Nice ride, lots of conveniences, comfortable. That being said, it's no station wagon.

How is it not quite a station wagon? I don't think the Enclave is based on a sedan of similar make so there's one. Plus, station wagons are just plain low as a sedan right? Oh, here's that subject again of "What constitutes a station wagon?" I'm thinking I'd know if I rode in one and paid attention to it though.

    Judgement call, for sure.
To me, the Enclave has more 'SUV' attributes than it does 'Wagon' attributes. For one thing, Buick themselves call it a 'SUV' on their own website.

It was designed as FWD/AWD high-profile vehicle from the begining - no version of the platform with another (different) body type on it.

Funny thing is, there are rumors that Buick might actually sell a REAL station wagon in the next year or two....a Regal.

The Enclave is more of a wagon than an SUV. It can't go off road. It is the modern day version of the Roadmaster wagon, and Estate wagons of 60s, 70s and 80s. It is the family hauler for America's upper middle class.

I sure have lots to think about with new cars in upcoming years if I should choose to do so.

On the "Is it a Station Wagon?" talk: It can't be a van (typically FWD and with tall space for sitting in) or a S.U.V.; it has to be, more or less, based on a Sedan but with its "Wagon" rear end for more cargo/passenger capacity than a sedan. It has to be a "City" car, not something usually taken on crazy dirt roads. However, I still consider my 1999 Suburban to be a wagon in a way; just not a station wagon since it's based on a truck instead.

The Suburbans still look like a wagon, have room like a wagon, and drive like a wagon. But they don't quack like a duck.

Right, the ride quality's different; lots of feeling the road.

I'd like a Suburban. I drove pick up trucks for years so the ride wouldn't bother me. All city driving now so it wouldn't matter.
