Until I can afford to tub the rear end of my Roadmaster wagon, does anyone know how wide of a tire will fit in the rear without modification? What are your thoughts... Big matching meats on the front or pizza cutters to give the hot rod look. Im not looking for a cruiser or low-rider look.

Any ideas and suggestions are welcome and valued

    thanks

On my 92 Roadie, Im running 255/70R15s on the back and there is plenty of room. Next will be a set of 275/60s. The 255's fill it up real nice and the white letters look great. Im running Cooper Cobras.

According to the posts over on ImpalaSS forum, lots of guys are running 17" wheels (or even larger) The most common tire size for that size wheel would be 255/50/17 or 255/55/17. The 255/50/17 is the standard tirer size for the Impala SS.

Check out these OZ wheels (apparently out of production now....)
