    Hi there!

Some a**holes just knocked out my hood emblem. Fortunately it is secured by a wire.
But: how can i reattach it to the hood? I only have three parts here in front of me: the emblem, the wire and the spring. Probably the wire should be inside the spring but what's next?

    Greetings from Germany!

Only a guess. It appears the spring slides onto the wires then the wires are pushed into the hood hole. Maybe first at an angle to get the bent part thru then with pliers to pull tight then attach.

Step two, catch the "A" holes and use the pliers on extremities.

Hm...I would guess first the spring under the hole in the hood, then the emblem with the wire from above through the hole and through the spring...but I'm not sure where to bend the ends of the wire.

They appear to be already bent. Just insert then bend more. In case it didn't work, I didn't write this.:cautious:

You need to remove the pot metal base that is bolted to the header panel. Insert the wire into the base, then slide the spring over the wire so it preloads it. You'll need to compress the spring while bending the ends of the wire back over the bottom coil to retain the spring. Then reinstall the base on the header panel.

    Here's an example:

    It's been a while...

Today I fixed the problem. I disassembled the whole chrome trim from the hood. I replaced the (real solid) original wire (second pic) with a copper-made one, because it was too short (probably broken). I guess it's not that theft resistant as it was before, but it's good enough.

    Thx for help!
