in this ad it says there are less than 25 remaining worldwide, does this sound about right? aren't there at least a couple linked to this site?

It's over-priced... and I don't know how he would know how many there are world wide. Sellers often stretch the truth a bit.. especially when asking such prices.

Of course the fact that it's in Australia makes it bit hard to get for most of us.......

I have no idea what the exchange is between the U.S. and American dollars, but that price seems very high. And not likely there would be but 25 survivors after a mere 35 years. It is somewhat rare, though, in that it has the factory gauge package, the Brougham package, and power windows. No power door lock, though. No cruise, either. I really would love it, but Australia is a little off the beaten track.

$13,500 AUD (Australian dollars) converts to (roughly) $14,200 US dollars

Not defending it or anything but that one is exceptionally nice. You have to realize he spent over $7000 for shipping to Oz in 2007 or 08. He also had to modify the rear lighting for amber turn signals too and do it right. For Oz I think the price is very fair but considering shipping costs etc back to the US it's prohibitive. Leon has a butt load of Cougars. (six I think) but only the one wagon. I'll bet someone there or in NZ with snap it up.

For that kind of money I can buy myself a 50's classic wagon, restore it and have change left over. :jumping:
