Still on a search for a wagon and have been running into some good deals on AMCs including a 77 Hornet also there a few AMC Eagles ... how hard are AMC's to get parts for? Thanks
My brother has a 71 hornet. The only thing we have been able to find are basic engine components. Still looking for a heater core. Was wondering if I could get the leaky one repaired? I'm a big fan of the eagles although I have no use for 4wd even on my truck. Just something else to go wrong. His is also for sale!
Most drivetrain parts are readily available, since they shared engines and transmissions with Jeeps. Any body and interior parts will need to be used. Grizz, supposedly you can get the later 73+ heater core Spectra 94567 and just cut off a bracket. http://theamcforum.com/forum/7072-hornet-heater-core-where-to-find_topic66026_page2.html
I started to get on the core this weekend. All I did was fix the door when an old friend stopped by. Spent the rest of the day on the porch. Not real excited about doing it anyway!
Here's one that was posted ouver in our Auctions, etc. section - nice looker in Bismarck, ND http://www.ebay.com/itm/1978-AMC-Other-D-L-/292022356789?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368 Oops... Looks like it just sold - $5,500....
That's a neat interior. I thought the price was a little high until I saw that. I wonder what motor that is?
