Airport Limo

    Airport limousines are kind of like taxis: Beast of burden, they were more often than not used up quickly and then sold off, to summer camps or churches or any other group that needed to haul plenty of people cheaply in the days before full-size vans were tailored to that purpose. Unlike regular private limousines, their bulk is not balanced by luxury or prestige, so you see many more private limousines being restored nowadays than airport limousines. The seller of this 1971 Pontiac Catalina airport limo doesn’t tell us much about its history, but it looks like it’s suffered a typical fate for an airport limo.     I wonder if they air conditioning for those additional seats. Rear air was not as common back then as it is now. With that many people in there, I'll bet it got pretty hot without it.

    i paid $1300 for my 6 door 74 pontiac catalina. mine was built by the same coachbuilder as the one above but used by a funeral home. in mine there is a seperate control for rear heat and ac.

    Here's one I tried to buy in upstate New York some years ago.Woman wouldn't sell it;had some sentimental attachment to it.:confused:
