Theres a beautiful 88 Ford Country Squire LX on Ebay right now. Tan with tan cloth interior. I think it said 44k miles but I could be wrong on that.
Here's the listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Coun...rs_Trucks&hash=item3f1a55933e#ht_17976wt_1034 One pic: Somebody appears to have painted to outer woodgrain moldings too dark, but otherwise it looks good. Nice interior. In Tampa, Fl. Thanks Krash, Yea I regonized the woodgrain wasn't origional when I first looked at the ad but forgot to talk that point up. It doesn't look too bad really. I've had a few Crown Vics and Grand Marqs from that time period and they were really nice cars. Maybe could have used more horsepower but adequate with the 302. My 91 Crown Vic LX rode as nice as any Cadillac or Lincoln I've ever been in!! Had every option but the dealer installed moonroof. The Insta Clear windshield was fantastic in the nasty Cincinnati winters. I got it new and why I ever sold it I don't know. I guess the 70's were a little rough on the brain.
Very nice. Looks a lot like my 85 and has all of the same options. I'd buy this one if I wanted another bad enough. I'd easily go $7,000 to get one in such good shape.
The first thing that would need to happen is to get that bumper hitch off, and then check to see how the trailer wiring was done. I am betting it does not have the towing package, so they likely tapped into the existing wires. Not the best way to do it. As an aside, the 88 and 89 Crown Victoria LX, Grand Marquis LS and Lincoln Town Cars have unique headrests. The articulate. They will also slide right into any of the 70s and 80s Ford product seats. Those particular headrests are the one reason I am not in a wheelchair. If you ever see them in a scrap yard, grab them. They are, literally, life savers.
These are the non-LS headrests, and they are also the ones used on the top line cars in other years. As you may be able to see, the 88/89 LS/LX headrest is almost square. It rotates forward to protect your neck in a crash. When my 89 was hit, my head moved back less than one inch, which is why my neck did not get broken. I was hit HARD and walked away without any stiffness, even.
