'81 Caprice chrome trim mounting hardware

    My '81 caprice has been resprayed and I'm at the point where I'm looking for the hardware to mount the 5" wide trim at the bottom of the doors and the rocker panels. I think these cars look much better with this trim.

    Need the right mounting hardware.

    I can find the flexible white plastic clips online (see photo next post), but it seems the longer door pieces also used a metal bracket that bolted or riveted to the door and slipped under the tabs on the trim.

    Anyone know the names of these parts and a source, and which pieces of trim require which mounting hardware?

    I see that you've found the plastic clips... Are you looking for the round metal ones? Like these?

    They are used only on the far back section, which can be seen in this pic:

    On the ends of the door trims, my 83 Caprice has only a small stud that goes through the door and is held on by a nut. This is the view from the inside of the door:
