I had to replace my ignition switch and the new cylinder will not allow me to remove key unless it is in auxillary position. Am I missing something or did they sell me wrong switch- anybody ever have this problem?
I sell these switches here at Napa and often run into this problem, if the key was removed from the tumbler before installation it pops out a small tab that makes the tumbler (cylinder) only turn slgihtly in one direction. Usually I end up getting them a new lock cylinder that has not been "popped" yet. Our switch comes with instructions that are pretty clear about the install proceedure. Hope this helps. It also makes, as you mentioned, the key can only be removed in the auxillary posistion.
