Mine was a budget model. It had solid front forks.

My younger brother had one of these, an Orange Krate, back in the day. Very cool bike. We loved the shock absorbers in the rear and the spring in the front.

I, of course, was too cool to want such a "small" bike. I wanted something "full-size." In 1973, at age 16, with money earned from my paper route, I bought a Raleigh Super Course. Cost $167.

What's really cool is that I still have this bicycle now 53 years later. It's shows a little wear now, but, hey, it's been with me through thick and thin. Even now, as I approach 70 years of age, I still get out on it once in a while, usually taking my granddaughter to a local park with several nice bike trails.

On the center post below the seat is the sticker I had to put on it in order to be able to park in the bicycle rack at college. Dated 1978-79.

I plan to be buried with it.

Mine was a Mustang three speed, orange with coaster brake. As kids we beat the crap out of our bikes.

I like the generator on the rear wheel. I had many of those back in the day. Does it still work?

If it's the same generator which was bolted onto its latest update, yes. Do you still like it now?
