I have a 68 Ford Country Squire. Took the panel off the tailgate and realized the rear channel/track that the window sits in is rusted, along with the pulley bearing that it rolls on. I can't find that part anywhere. Any suggestions? Any donor tailgate's I could look for? I'm desperate here. TIA

The post says ‘68. If you have a ‘68 you are gonna want to look for a ‘65-‘68 wagon, as ‘69 was a complete redesign as it was the first year for the three way gate. The tailgate height is different as well as the window configuration. It may work, I’m just saying the the ‘65-‘68 tailgate was pretty much identical. If you have a ‘69, then I would look for a ‘69-‘72 as far as an identical gate. The ‘73-‘78 although a new design is more similar and could still work.

I have a ‘68 and since it was a Southwest car rust wasn’t much of an issue, but all the channel welting was toast. I would also recommend change the welting when you replace any of the Channel mechanisms. 25DB46E8-9BD1-4F60-A182-D04E1A69D09C.jpeg
