I have often seen it asked, "will a flat roof gate window fit a Vista (or vice versa)?"

After comparing the rear window from a 71 Vista to the rear window of a flat roof (my 70 Concours), I would say that the two windows seem to match.

However, while sorting thru some Vista bits I have, I made a discovery. If you already know this, smile and walk on. However, may save someone from buying something they can't use (or passing on something they can).

The corner pieces of the wide chrome trim above rear gate window (covers the upper window seal) on a Vista is different than that of a flat roof. The long center part is the same.

Pic shows the flat roof part on top of the Vista part. Vista part is longer...

Vista part also has a different curve (larger radius). Vista part is above the flat roof part...

The long center pieces are the same, but the dirt marks show the Vista has a wider spacing between corner chrome pieces. This time, Vista is on the bottom. Left side aligned at ends...

I also found that the inner trim (finishes body edge at headliner) is different, which didn't surprise me as the inside of the roof is quite different.

This refers to Vista roof cars from 68-72 (I have actually looked at 70-72). I don't know about 64-67 cars. Maybe someone else who has parts can compare.

I now need to re-evaluate the Vista back widow and see if it will work on my wagon. Else I have gotten it for nothing... I will update when I can do this comparison.

    Best,
    Tom
