I remember seeing this car LOTS in years past, rite back to the 80's and got to view it 10 ish(?) years ago at a Mopar car show up island at a Dodge dealership. Was well known and talked about back in my day. http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/1965-Plymouth-Barracuda_15063914 This is what I remember, pricey considering you don't really know what all the car neds till you view it but dam...A Candain built, and a origonal island car to boot!
Nice, but the price does seem a little high for a 64-66 A-body Barracuda without the Formula S package when theres work to be done on it.
How can they say it's not a Plymouth? When Plymouth built them. Front sub frames have to be replaced? If the sub frames are rotted out that is major work. Not worth 9,000.00
By branding it as a Valiant, rather than a Plymouth or a Dodge, it could be sold by both Plymouth and Dodge dealers in Canada. The 1960 Valiant was listed as a make all its own in the US for that reason, then in 61 the Valiant became a Plymouth in the US, and Dodge introduced the Lancer as an almost twin but with different grille and tail lights, and different sculpting on the front doors. For 63, the Lancer was replaced by the Dart in the US. In Canada, the Valiant continued for both Dodge and Plymouth dealers, sometimes using some or all the Dart sheet metal (at least through 66). But, the very first Barracudas, the 1964 models, did have both the Barracuda and the Valiant nameplate on them. It the US, those 64 Valiant Barracudas were still Plymouths.
When I was a little kid my sister dated a guy with a brand new barracuda in burgandy. It was the cat's meow, quite the commotion when he cam to pick her up.
