64 GM WAGON CARGO AREA

    What type of coating was used to cover the backside of the fold down seats? dosen't blast off like paint seems tuffer than regular paint almost plastic.

    Was something applied to the surface like some sort of under coating or similar substance? (pictures?)....Longroofs Rule!

    That's what I am thinking, too. SMS sells the vinyl for these cargo areas, pretty much in any color you'd want.

    Maybe sandblasting or just plain scraper. Chemicals as a last resort. SMS should have the replacement material.

    That material was known as either ribbed, or army linoleum. I think the best way is to use some type of scraper with an adhesive remover. As mentioned SMS may have that type of surface materials for your load floor. Don’t know what type of GM wagon your referring to but upper end models also had carpet available if you can find the chrome surrounds for it. If you can keep as good a piece as you can SMS may ask for a sample.
