Anyone have an easy way to replace the tailgate window switch on a 62 olds super 88 fiesta wagon? Works fine, both up & down, from the dash switch. But when you put the key in the tailgate it will only go down.

Pulling the inside panel off the tailgate to gain access to the switch, there's not much room to maneuver. Do you have to pull the window, tracks & motor or is there an easier way?

I'd like to pull the bezel that holds/goes over the switch and have it re-painted as well. Looks like there are 3 bolts holding it on?

Appreciate any help you masters can give!

You'll probably have to pull the glass out. When I was in the Air Force we had mid-80's Chevrolet Blazers with a similar setup. Except they had manual windows. They were always coming into the shop with broken rear handles, and the only way to get to them was to remove the rear window. Got to where I could almost do in my sleep..
