I am considering buying the above vehicle. Anybody know if this car had a rear seat from the factory . Searched Google and never got a definitive answer. Thanks

They could have, but i doubt a sedan delivery would have. Kinda defeats the purpose of a delivery vehicle

I doubt it. But I don't know for certain.
I'd be interested in hearing more about this car in general. My Father-in-law was wanting a falcon sedan delivery for a while and I researched them online.
Not too many of them around.

I'm willing to bet there were less of them made than Rancheros.

I thin I can say unequivocally that no, you could not get a back seat in a Falcon Sedan Delivery*. They did have 2-door station wagons through '65 that would have served that purpose. Here's a link to the '62 Falcon truck brochure - Ranchero and Sedan Delivery.

    * If you have a sedan delivery, and want to put a back seat into it, it wouldn't be very hard though - just get a station wagon back seat, and remove the floor filler panel that sits over where your feet would go in the back seat of a wagon - the floor pans for the wagon and the sedan delivery should be the same.

Thanks for the replies . I am going to look at this car soon. It has a a 170 six with a Dagenhem 4 speed , In 62 1500 SD were built. I'm sure way less with the factory 4 speed. I hope it's as good as the seller says. I'll keep you posted.

Those brochures don't mention Falcons as having a 4-speed option, though. Not that it's a bad option

Ford used the same shell for the two door wagon, Sedan Delivery and the Ranchero.
Even the Ranchero has the panel in the bed covering where the floor pan for the rear seat would have been in a wagon.

Yeeup. Ford saved a mighty bunch of money by using common tooling between the three. Chevrolet kind of shot themselves in the foot by not doing so with the El Camino, which became too expensive so it was dropped during this time.

    This the car in question
Got this from Jalopy Journal "Ford offered a inline six and a 4 speed transmission in Falcon's so it's probably a stock setup." Also the pic of the steering column shows no place for a shift lever

Probably, a dealer-installed option. The tranny might have been installed in vehicles built under license, say, in Australia, for example, or those destined for foreign markets. It would be interesting to know if they were fully synchronized

The Dagenhem 4 speed is a column shift ,it was offered on the vans with same engine as the falcons. Early econolines are mostly falcon running gear. I would guess it was an option on the falcons. If it still has the data plate it will indicate 3 or 4spd.

Here's the '62 Falcon brochure specifications page. Clearly states a floor-shifted 4-speed manual was an option with all engines.
