Saw this on another forum (yes, I was on another forum ) I have always been a Tri-five fan and was lamenting the fact that this brand new looking 56 was most likely doomed for the crusher. Then I noticed that the tu-tone paint was split down the middle. I may be wrong, but this car does not look like a Belair, but rather a 210. I wouldn't say I'm an aficionado, but I've been obsessed with the 55-57 chivy since I was 6 (don't tell my friends, they think I'm Ford car or no car) but I have never seen or heard of a 210 convertible.
Yeah, that is intersting. I could'nt find another , but I did find this... no info with the piture though
I think the mystery has been solved, it's not a rag top at all. At first glance it kinda does look like a damaged rag but looking closer no way.
Yeah the fact that it hit hard enough to push the cowl rearward and then buckle the roof - makes it kinda look like it has a soft top......
Upon closer inspection I think you fellas are right. The Chrome on the "C" pillar gives it away. I knew of the 210 Hard top or "sports coupe" they are purty scarce these days. I thought it was a rare 210 convertible that had been wrecked, now I see that it was 'just' a rare 210 hard top.
Why in the world is that guy who's looking at it, seem to be smiling? Am I right, isn't he smiling? Can't imagine why, unless it was his wife's car and they were getting a divorce and he didn't want her to have it. Then, maybe that'd explain it.
Yeah, I looked upside-down on that original pic to see the 'Courtesy Chevrolet' license plate frame. Was figuring that it was the old Courtesy Chevy in L.A., now defunct. There's other 'Courtesy Chevrolets' out there - one in Thousand Oaks CA that just shut its doors a few months ago, one in Phoenix, and one in San Diego that I know of.....probably lots of others. The L.A. Courtesy was at one time one of the bigest dealers in LA.
