They have alot of eye candy for sure and I look at the site now and then. Although"some" of there prices are fair IMO alot of the cars are all shinny etc but pics tell tales of bad hidden rust....You have to be there and look for your self IMO as it's the imfamous evel used car dealer. That wagon sure looks like it has potential but we need the important pics, frame, wheel wells etc. Sharp looking origonal though

Yeah, gmatt, I have seen a lot of the cars advertised by them. Maybe it's just me but I have found that many of the cars there are borderline and they want a little more than they are worth when you go look up close and personal. Occasionally, I have seen a fairly decent price for what the car was but rarely. I would call the place....for the most part....a project car haven. I HAVE seen them come up with some winners now and then. Their prices seem good until you look at the car closely and start adding up what it will take to get the car right. They do seem to find interesting stuff. Some of it looks like good junk yard finds that have been cleaned up a little. JMHO

That was kinda my impression too. They do come up with some interesting cars tho. I'm drawn to the ones with faded original paint, those are more difficult to misrepresent. But I'd have to see it up close in-person.

I agree....I like honest cars, as I call them. If a car is sitting there with original paint and all the other originals, I'm interested and will take a look. Often, these are indicators of a one owner. Or one that was recently purchased from a one owner.

There not wagons but one of my other hobbies so I'll use them as as example of..."Used Cars on big Lots"

For startes the prices are WAY over board

    http://www.countryclassiccars.com/spcars_76.htm

This blue one all nice and shinny, clearly was a vynal top car (you can see the trim is painted blue now) and judging by the rest of what I see there is no dout the roof had rot..but how was it repaired?? Lots of mud and tape or done rite..??

The dash is warped, very common for these that lived in the sun bked ereas, the rest of the interiour including door panels are not stock, incorect stearing wheel and chrome on dash painted blue and the hub caps although Cougar origonal have been pollished and the black paint for the spokes is gone

Under the hood tells me horror, no detail or cleaning up and I've had Cougar parts cars that looked just like this. The shock toweres are rusted, I've had the same rust and a gentle tap with a hammer and you can drop a bace ball through the hole, and look at the cowl at the fire wall, I'll bet money that thing leaks inside....I wonder what the torque boxes look like.

And where is the shock tower cross brace??

    and all this for $9450:49:

    And this one
    http://www.countryclassiccars.com/spcars_232.htm

Warped dash, chrone on dash is shot, incorect stearing wheel, seats have the stock look except for the blue trim, missing the XR7 console clock (hard to find item now..$$$) door panels missing map pockets. drivers front head lite cover in need of repair ( I have also seen/had whereit's rut that has done this beyond repair) and then theres that passenger side rear quarter and door....BAD RUST for these, I'd be scared to whap my hand on that quarter and on the frame

    And all this for $8950:49:

I'll bet these 2 are the ones they will seem to have fore ever:biglaugh:

Yup.....this place has junk yard finds and cleaned up stuff that ought to be on the way there. When they have one that looks good they price it like a one owner find. Those prices you point out for those kinds of cars, Fat, are what I was talking about above. I don't think I would bother trying to buy any of their stuff. But that's just me.

LOL....well....with all that said....I guess I DO hope SOMEone buys those wagons and saves them. Trouble is....they may sit there and rust to pieces unless these guys lower their prices. Always bothers me when the wrong people get hold of old cars.

Those guys never return emails OR phone calls. I called on a 1956 Pontiac 2-door, real nice. I sent probably 3 emails and a phone call and no returns. I believe the cars is still for sale.

They had a car there a long time ago...before I had seen the stuff they usually post. Emailed them and they never answered me. Emailed again with the same result. Then I looked at some more of their cars and decided I was probably lucky.
