https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2018/06/29/a-great-save-on-the-2018-great-race/#comments A 55 Buick lost it's brakes coming down the Mt. Washington Auto Road, another guy in a 64 1/2 Mustang used his car to stop it. i have driven it several times, and above the tree line it is very narrow.
A single mastercylindered car uses its single circuit to stop two single mastercylindered vehicles. That's almost like having a one-eyed person leading a blind one by the hand. Imagine two modern cars trying a stunt like that, with their Soyboy bumpers
No doubt, there would be damage, but it's better than removing injured/dead bodies from the mountainside.
Man, That would have been a scary experience! I bet their lives flashed before their eyes. Awesome story though describing the way the driver of the Mustang sacrificed his car to help the Buick come to a stop.
I'd be more worried about the front bench seat of the autonomous Buick having gotten soiled and/or irrigated
