No Reserve: 2005 Ford Taurus SE Wagon for sale on BaT Auctions - ending October 22 (Lot #216,149) | Bring a Trailer We had a 2001, loved it. We needed a larger car when our sone was born. Id didn't want a mini van like everyone else, so we got a Taraus Wagon. Got a picture with my mom and dad sitting in 3rd row facing backwards.
Our experience was the exact opposite. We had a 1990 Taurus wagon, and we loved it. When we bought it, our kids were 1, 3, and 5 years old. As they got older, though, they didn't like that all three of them couldn't have a window seat, and they all hated riding in the rear-facing third seat. I couldn't blame them. It was not a comfortable seat, and one of our kids would get carsick whenever he rode back there. We traded it in 1996 on a Pontiac Transport minivan, and the kids loved it. Lots of room. Everyone faces forward and can sit by a window. Lots of room for luggage, and with the ability to remove all of the seats behind the front ones, it was quite versatile in hauling home new furniture or whatever other large objects one might want to haul. As much as I hate to say it, there's a reason minivans kicked station wagons to the side of the road.
