Not Eye. Do those taillights out some sort of mammary envy? They remind me of some classic kitchen utensil used for squeezing out orange juice
That's a C5 conversion made by AAT (Advanced Automotive Technologies) here in Michigan. Designed by the company's owner, Steve Pasteiner. He's a retired GM designer. http://www.aatcars.com/commem_wagon.html The 1954 GM Motorama "Corvette Nomad" was his inspiration:
The idea is sound. However that rear treatment on the C5 seems out of whack. I must say I have to agree with Ivy on the whole "mammary"-esque treatment, top and bottom. Something got lost in the translation. That poor C5 vette - that's the one generation I really like..... BTW Joe - is this fellow the man also resposible for those bulletnose (49-50) Ford treatments for 90's Thunderbirds?
Nope, that's not his design. That's from EasyRods in your old stomping grounds. They're Jersey boys! Joe
This originally was to be the 1955 Chevy Nomad with sliding roof. Everything leaked and they ran out of time and money. So the standard '55 Chevy front clip was used and the roof ended up with ridges to simulate the sliding roof. The rear quarter ended up also getting the standard -55 sedan type tail lites.---------------Really! Yuck yuck yuck!
It's sad that so many prototypes stay prototypes, because those stuffed shirts at those shareholder meetings vote down anything they view as risky. I can never imagine that that above posted Norvette would have ever ended up as a GM Edsel
