Hey all. Great Site! I'm Tom from Vancouver Wa. I've been playing with cars awhile now and have always loved the wagons. I finally got the chance to pick one up. It's a 1968 Ford Country Squire w/ 390, C6. It runs great but looks like hell (just the way I wanted) I only paid $1k. This will be a ratrod little brother to my 1968 Galaxie convertible that I'm doing a restomod on (more on that later). My plans are to do alittle rust repair (frame and rear quarters), cut the srings to the bump stops, delete the side moulding and fake wood, paint it gold with black roof and scallops, and of couse install an obnoxiously load stereo. Pics to come throughout process. Anyhoo, I just picked it up last week and found this forum a few days ago and have aready found a wealth of info. Thanks Guys
Welcome to the SWF, Tom. Here's some other information that may interest you: Dr. B. Smith's restoration thread. Brian has a '67 Squire, so a lot of what he has posted should be relevant to yours. http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1380 Northwest Longroofs Facebook page. This is a club, recently formed for any wagon geek. Club only has about 25 members so far, but should be taking off quite rapidly..... 4-5 here on the forum are members. And we already have the T-Shirts! https://www.facebook.com/groups/471623039622456/ Glad you're here! Marshall
Thanks guys that DrB's thread is amazing. I can see hours of reading enjoyment there. Anyone else doing a late 60's rat? I see a few early 60's but not much later ones ratted out
Howdy neighbor! to the wagon train, Tom! Nice to see another from the 'couv. You have definitely found the best place for all things wagonish.
