IIRC the LT1 came out in those cars in 94. Did some of the 93's have it?.....I don't believe so.

Don't think so. I'm also dubious of the mileage numbers no matter if it is an LT1, L03, or L05. I mean I know they got decent mileage, but c'mon 26/33??

I think that's what they claimed on the LT1. Something close to that, anyway. You CAN get close to those numbers. Sort of....if you nurse it. I'm almost positive that the LT1 was 94, 95, 96 only.

My research says that the 93's had the L05. That's the TBI 350. IF there's an LT1 in that wagon, someone other than the factory put it in there. Easiest way to tell is if it has dual exhaust. LT1 wagons came with duals from the factory. Although, someone COULD dual out a 305 or TBI 350. I can't tell from the pix whether or not it has duals. There are people out there that see this body style and automatically think they ALL had LT1 engines. Not true. The early one's (91's) had the 305 engine. The LT1 came in the 94-95 & 96 wagons.

There is not a car that size that can achieve that much gas milage.

True, TB.......BUT.....there ARE guys documented that are getting 26 and 30! With the LT1. One guy took a trip and babied it just for gas mileage and claims he got an average of 31 city & highway.:49:

I was talking about "normal" drivers not hypermilers.

I'm agreeing with you for sure, TB. To a degree. As big and heavy as these wagons are, the LT1 in them does get astonishing mileage with normal driving. Me? No way I'm going to get close to the factory claims with my heavy foot. Even if I had left the original stock engine in it.:disagree:

I'm thinking if they consistently got over 30 on the highway we'd still have that engine today. I can see mid to high 20's, heck 500 hp Corvettes get that but they are barely over 3,000 lbs.

Well....the LS series is a major improvement of the LT1. But, they upped the power and speed. They are awesome engines but I have no idea what the mileage is for any of the LS engines. I do know that some guys that have them in trucks are amazed at their mileage but I don't know what that mileage is.
