Who made their V-6s? I've never seen an overhead valve Mitsubishi engine. So, it must have been Chrysler's first domestic V-6 block or a sawed-off 318. However, from here it looks like a 60° block

Yup, and this FWD platform was far better than the '80s platforms by a wide margin. I had a Dodge Dynasty a long time ago, and I had no compunction getting the speedo pegged at 125MPH (and it still wanted to accelerate) on the Mitsu 3.0 and A999 trans; I wouldn't dare do that in any of the '80s platform cars. They were also proportioned better, giving more interior room, and none of the electrical bugs the '80s platform cars had.
These cars and their Dodge ilk must have been screwed together half decent, because down here in the Southwest, they seemed to live pretty darn long lives, even the crack/ meth head 7th or 8th owners can't seem to kill them. My dad almost bought a 93 imperial, and I gotta admit, it was a pretty nice ride for a glorified K car.
