Mmmmm, a nice example of a comfy Box Panther. The only drawback is the Central FI; otherwise, everything about these cars is sorely missing in newer cars. Like leg room.

That and soft, comfy, never-want-to-get-out-of-them seats and a compliant suspension that isn't as firmly sprung as modern day cars. Honestly, I miss the comfy, isolated and smooth ride cars used to have. I don't know why all of today's cars are trying to go for firm sport-like suspensions when all that the vast majority of North American drivers will ever do is drive them long distances in a mostly straight line on the highway. Not to mention city driving is much more comfortable in a car like this than even a modern Honda Accord. Sure, these old cars may not handle well and may not be as good in emergency situations, but I think cars like the late 90s and early 2000s Buick LeSabre and Park Avenue were a good middle ground between isolation and safety. Bring back the boulevard ride!

Yeah it’s a lovely car. I’d be sniffing around on this one if it were an ‘86. That EFI made all the difference in the world. Plus blacks a little rough in NM and AZ. But it’s sure a looker.

Yep, Bill - it is lovely. And I think I'd rather have this than a similarly equipped Townie of the same vintage - back in 1985 and in 2022.
