What a neat little wagon. I'd be on board with this one - however, I'd sure a heck make sure I checked the timing belt and such first.

According to the literature, by '85 the engine was non-interference.
Up until a few years ago, I wasn't even sure the Escort offered a Squire option in '85. It's just a few words buried in the brochure. I've only seen one other '85 Squire-- a diesel at the Hershey car show back in about 2012.
This ad doesn't indicate if it's gas or diesel, manual or automatic or anything else about it except its mileage.
If you get it as a show car, you'll be pretty sure to have the only one at the show. Except maybe at Hershey. There were two Escort Squire wagons at that 2012 show.

Good luck with this neat little ride. I had a friend back in the day who had one of these, but it was an '84. I think these look neat with the little woody package....

While I've probably seen an Escort wagon some time in the last year or two, it's been a VERY long time since I've seen an Escort SQUIRE wagon. I would imagine the ratio of Escort Squire wagons to total Escort wagons to be pretty low.

Neat! Hope it works out for you. I wont post any more ads, although I am looking at the UK Version of the Ford Escort. They have what they call Estates, for wagons. Some neat ones as well but this one is a time capsule.

Now if I can find that 1977-79 Town Coupe for a project I need to start!

The Squire versions were pretty rare even when they were new. The Squire trim was an option package on these; they weren't considered separate models. It was only offered from 1981 to the first half of 1985 and was dropped for the mid-'85 restyle.
