Seller is dreaming with that price. These were not even popular when new, much less now. https://nashville.craigslist.org/cto/6017453712.html
I agree, but the couple of people I used to know that were into them, were really into them!!!!! I could see one of them paying that asking price. I never understood it myself. The car does look to be in remarkable condition.
Super-nice looking wagon. Used car prices are funny. It may be worth $13k to the owner but not to anyone else. In that case he/she should keep the car and enjoy it. Or lower his/her expectations. Admittedly, hard to do sometimes.
I like the "real head turner" description. The car is neat but not what I would call an attention grabber. My friend would call this road camouflage. Nothing flashy, just a non descriptive car, painted a non descriptive color. I mean, what would you call that color?? Imagine having to give that information to the cops in a hurry. "I don't know it was sort of a wagon? Or a hatchback? Could have been an older Honda maybe a Nissan? It was... i don't know green? Brown? Greenish brown?" The interior reminds me a lot of a volvo
Comparing to a vintage Mercedes 240D wagon.... The good: - Much more cargo (and passenger?) room - Most likely a better ride - More unique The bad: - Parts availability - Acceleration (?) Not positive on this one, but I hear it doesn't win many stop-light grand prix's....
I've had a 78 300D and a 84 300 turbo diesel, never driven a Peugeot. Ever. Neither Mercedes were fast. I've driven golf carts that accelerated quicker. I think it would be hard to beat the drive of those cars though, and the interiors were quality and comfort. I'd take a benz any day. And one day I will! I'm always looking for another one, even though I have neither the space or the dough!
Short review: it's ugly! Does that look like 1982 to anyone? 1962 maybe at best - Baby Jane Hudson should be driving that to the grocery market - bonus points if you get which current FX mini-series to which I am referring.
I'm no fan of Peugot's, but that is likely one of the nicest ones in the U.S. What is it worth? As an average used car just to drive probably $3k. To some Peugot crazed collector I could see the asking price. Not saying it is rational, but I could see somebody paying it. It's not a bad looking car and it has decent proportions. The styling might be little dated, but it is 35 years old. It certainly isn't the ugliest car I've ever seen.
The styling to me looks better a couple of years later with the composit headlights. But the one below is a 505 not a 504 so the next generation? I am no French car expert.
^^^ Correct! This next generation also had some engines that made a bit more power, too - including a V6. Also Peugeot's last RWD vehicle. Always liked Peugeot's idea of making their station wagons a bit bigger than their sedan versions of the same vehicle. Both the 504 and 505 wagons are on longer wheelbases than the sedan models. Sort of like what GM did with the Olds Vista Cruiser and Buick Sport Wagon, only without the glass in the roof.
These seem to be a little more common. I've seen a few of this style around town. Did they come in any other color?!
There is a '91 505 for $7,500. Never saw on in person, find it neat that this one has three rows of seats. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1991-Peugeo...ash=item1ec2f674ea:g:YQIAAOSwTglYk3NT&vxp=mtr
