It does look very GM-like. Looks even more like a Ford LTD of the same year. When the full-size GM downsized cars proved successful in 1977, both Ford and Chrysler had to scramble to respond. Chrysler just did not have the money to come up with an all new design, so they put a new skin and interior on what had been the previous Fury/Monaco. They did manage to make it look contemporary, but sales were never good and these full-size RWD Mopars were dropped after 1981.
