That's the Buick Estate Wagon Limited. Either has the 350 or 403 V8. Most all factory power options w/cornering lights and chrome Buick road wheels. A tremendous deal at $1800 even if it does need an engine valve job ( and a vacuum). :)

I actually looked at this car last year when it was for sale for $2800.

It does have the 403 in it, very nice interior but body not great.
Rust bubbles on rear wheel wells under woodgrain.
Also had some spray bomb repairs done on lower 1/4s.

Exhaust manifolds are cracked, not a big deal.

The 86 Electra Wagon i picked up 2 weeks ago for $500 is in similar condition but does have a rebuilt 403 in it with paperwork.

IMO this is a $700-1000 wagon, needs a fair amount of work.:yup:

If anyone's interested, let me know i can have a look, only 45 mins away from me.

Were leather seats an option on these cars?

Don't believe so for the 1970s (on GM that is). Velour was as good as it got up front with vinyl for the messy kiddos in the back. Leather became available during the '80s on GM wagons

    1978 Buick Estate wagon

This post peaked my interest and started me searching. I came up with this not too far from me. It's a '78 model.

    - Power options work
    - Buick 350 that will run, but won't idle
    - solid car
    - wood grain faded and cracked
    - Priced almost the same as the '79 posted here
    - What's a reasonable price based on its condition?

I'm considering saving this one. Any opinions?

That '78 looks very promising, Professor - well worth saving! Black exterior with wood grain and a red interior is my favorite combination! Let us know if you get it! If you decide to pass, I might be interested. :)
