It is in nice shape, don't care for the colors though. Basic Interior with some odd individual options like the digital indash clock. I am torn on the manual windows, I like the power windows on my fathers 78 Catalina Wagon when they work, but last summer they were driving me nuts, they only worked when I tried to trouble Shoot the issues. While driving they seemed to have a mind of there own, to go along with the unionized windshield wipers, they don't work in the rain, but in nice weather they work fine.

I like the exterior color and I like the interior color but man do I not like a green paint car with tan interior. I don't know what was up in the late '70s but this color combo showed up way more often than I thought it would, kind of like yellow and brown cars in the early '70s.

Poor basic interior Catalina. Odd that they shelled out for the fancy tailgate and digital dash clock and even the AM\FM stereo, which was stupid expensive from the factory back then, but didn't get any power options or gauges and skimped on the interior appointments for basic tan vinyl and black non-color-matched belts (which was $5 in 1978). That 400 though, great engine and the last of the good ones from Pontiac. It's the kind of car that you speculate was ordered by a customer with a naive\new\lazy salesperson who never bothered to bring up other options as a way to jazz up the car on the cheap like when a dealer would order it. Or maybe a dealer ordered it for some reason! I had a '74 Catalina that was done similarly: biggest engine, dash gauges, AC, manual EVERYTHING ELSE and cheapest interior. Strange time for ordering cars.

Actually Michigan has been a "right to Work" State for at least 5 years now. And my Friends that are Union members just roll there eye's when I say things like that. I know some companies need Unions, and some don't. Just depends on the Management that runs them.

You have to wonder what the auto unions and companies relationships would have been without the Harry Bennett’s of the world.
