A 17k mile "original"? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AMAZ...6257802?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item20cb17568a Now compare what a 1978 Fury wagon with factory woodgrain looks like. http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/plymouth/78fu/bilder/9.jpg
Saw that one last night. The ad text makes it perfectly clear that it's not factory woodgrain. Don't think they're trying to pull a fast one there. This wagon is very nice though, and the job someone did on the woodgrain certainly looks top-notch.
last year the same dealer had this car for sale and then claimed all original numbers matching. i do not know where it has been not at his car lots in Lakeland fl it was at 8500.00 last year when i questioned him about the numbers match and it was pulled from ebay that day??
I like it minus the wheels and that 2 barrel carb choking that motor. That whole lean burn deal sounds like bad news, too. Dang seventies efficiency equipment. Does way more harm than good.
The woodgrain just looks wrong and there are areas wher you can tell that the trim wasn't even removed to apply the woodgrain. Nice car though.
I like the wood.....yet I don't IMO the tailgate should have had the bottom covered, but the front of the fenders just don't look rite too me. The rst of the side full wood looks better than stock though. I wonder just how long the pinstripe will hold up on the front fenders.... youcan see they didn't cross the line too good where the nose joins the fenders....should have stayed back a 1/4 inch or ran the wood all the way....
I've got a few nits to pick on the Di-Noc as well, but overall it's a pretty good job. I agree with you Tedy on the tailgate and the tape striping - could be a problem later on. Also seems they cheaped out and reused the original black side body protection moldings. Should have put some new brown ones on to blend in with the woodgrain.
Its at about the same price it was the last time it was listed on ebay it seems all of his cars get to 8,000 and then stop . The last time listed I offered him 5,000 cash for this one if he could back up his numbers matching/all original claim and he said he would give me the car if i proved him wrong AND I DID but he hung up on me and pulled add off ebay.
Auction over - bidding stalled at $8600 - reserve not met. IMO he should have let it go for that price.
