1978 AMC Concord D/L Two-Door Sedan for sale on BaT Auctions - ending February 8 (Lot #65,286) | Bring a Trailer
|Nice car! There was one of these Concord coupes in the local U-pull about 10 years ago. It was an '81 Limited coupe, and boy was it loaded. Two tone brown, wires, AC, PW, tilt, the whole shebang, but a 6 banger. I was thinking this is kind of AMC's answer to the Thunderbird - and comparing it to an 81 T-Bird at the time, if it wasn't a Heritage T-Bird, the comparison wasn't too far off. One of my good buddies in PA - his dad had an '81 T-bird base model, and it was basically a Futura with hidden headlights. Heck, I think in 81 or 82(or both), the T-Birds had a 6 as standard, though I've only ever seen one equipped like that.
I know the 200 CID could be had with a T-bird at that time, but all the ones I've seen had a 255 or 302 V8.
Special place for these. Below looks like my 1st car out of college. Leaking power steering, nothing special to remember.
I'm either getting old or I'm tired as when I 1st read you comment I was LOL as I read it as "nother special to Rambler"
