A commenter on the Bat site said that this Pontiac was a great example from an under appreciated era of American auto design. I second that.

They were HUGELY popular back in the day, up through the '90s really, you saw them everywhere. They really have been passed over since then though. Most 2 door personal luxury\sports oriented cars have gone the way of the dodo and demand is next to nothing for them.

The only real disadvantage to these cars is if you didn't get a Pontiac 350 or 400, they were extremely underpowered for their size. The primitive emissions controls and catalytic converters didn't help matters out either.

Sold tor $24,000.00. That was well sold IMO I owned at least 10 75-77 GP's and they are nice if under powered cars. Even the 455's in stock form in those years are a bit wanting in the HP department, but have plenty of low end torque.

Its a nice car, hope it found a good home.

Agree with Elb, Considering how numerous the 2dr personal luxury cars were in their era, it is surprising how few seem to have survived. Wish I had included the owner in the photo of this Monte Carlo. he was no more than 35 and said he fully restored this one because he loved the way it looked. Do not remember what he about the power train.
