Jeep 4.0L and a Dodge 2WD auto OD trans, along with the EFI, and you'd have a hot straight-six boulevard cruiser with excellent highway manners.

I like this. My son really likes this! He's about $2,799 short right now!

Barf! My Mom drove a brown one. The POs would spend more time in the shop than on the road. Not to mention it's fugliness.:(

I remember how the CB lingo name for a Pacer was a "pregnant rollerskate."

This car is about an hour from me. Me and my son really thought about going to look at it. Then one day we are cruising craigslist and a SCAM ad shows up talking about this car. Apparently someone went to look at it and the radiator is empty, visible history of stop leak running down the side of the radiator, oil running out of every orfice of the engine, and so much blow by that a coal powered freight train was jealous. Needless to say we didn't go look at it

^^^That is why I advocate the 4.0L swap.

Good, saved me a road trip to Nebraska! For the money, I was thinking about this one.

AMC made some pretty decent V8s that would fit. And since the 304 was optional for this model, it should be an easy swap (I think you have to change the hood, though). Keep that great AMC feeling ... no that slogan doesn't work with a company that bought so many parts from the Big 3. Well, I think you get the idea.

I would still go with the Heep 4.0 and auto OD trans. Fuel injection and you can pop in taller rear gears in the rear axle while still getting good mileage.
