A very good-looking car. I like the gray/red color scheme. I think he's too high by a factor of two on the $15,000 price, but good luck to him.

Oddly, the car is missing the knee-level trim strip that starts behind the front wheel and goes all the way back to the rear fender extension. Apparently that was not standard equipment. The invoice on my '78 shows it as an $11 option. I've never seen a '77 or '78 Toro that did not have it, and that doesn't surprise me given how inexpensive it was and how it might actually prevent some parking lot dings. It's surprising that anyone would have bought a car like this and not spent the additional $11. But hey. Gotta count your pennies.

    Here's a '77 with the trim strip.

I'm thinking that back window is what makes it look so odd not the missing side molding. Man that is strange looking. The car could have just been a dealer ordered spec. Someone didn't tick that box after doing it several other times.

Let's be careful here! I own one of these, a '78, and I think the panoramic rear window is the highlight of the car!

That same "bent glass" technology was used on the rear windows of similar-year Chevy Caprice Classics. Here's a '78.

Whoops ok the back window is growing on me LOL.
If the red one is yours jaunty the pinstripes and side mouldings really set it off. Much better looking this way.
The more I look at the silver one it's not really the back window that's odd looking to me it's the silver paint with red vinyl half roof. It looks like it's just stuck on there. Your burgundy on burgundy is a better colour combination.

I just talked to a friend I haven’t seen in years. She had niiiiice 78 caprice. I asked where it was and she said she sold it. $1500. Major bummer.

    You're forgiven!

The gray car has pinstripes, too, but the color is not very contrasting with the body color. You have to look closely to see them. Yes, I think on my car, the white pinstripes on the maroon paint really stands out nicely.
