Lincoln-Mercury was riding high on the Farrah Fawcett-Majors ad campaign for the Cougar. ABC picked up the bicentennial summer Angels mini-series for fall 1976 for "Charlie's Angels." Why not rename the entire Mercury Montego intermediate line as Cougar for 1977!? It proved to be a very good move sales wise, especially for the 2-door Cougar XR-7!

I'm not real keen on the light blue exterior, but that interior is amazing!

$7500 is about the max this wagon will bring. I doubt it will receive any bids, especially with a reserve set. Maybe, start the bidding at $7500 with No Reserve. Yes, it's rare and it's clean. But the demand just isn't there. IMO

Very, very rare for sure! I'd love to have it with my Gran Torino.

There was something in the original CL pics that made me think that $6K should be about the max this should bring, but the ebay pics certainly make this car look exceptionally clean. By the way, besides the wheel covers, the cargo area speakers are not original. They're aftermarket, not factory (factory were 4 X 8'' on top of the trim panels).

I'm betting the reserve is near or over $10K, and I agree with n2fordmuscle that the interest isn't high enough -- yet -- to support that high a price.

I've seen several Cougar Villagers noted on the forum and on ebay over the past couple of years, so, if you're willing to travel or buy based on the pics and ship, they're not so rare that they can't be had.
