The one on the right is simply a handle and the key lock is below it. The one in the middle means this has a manual crank window, not power, like the '76 wagon I had as a parts car for awhile. I love this car. This is sweet. This is something to aspire for and might still be available in a few weeks if I'm lucky!
Looks like a pretty clean wagon from the outside. Could be a good deal if the interior is as nice. Since it's got a manual rear window, odds are it doesn't have many options. With it being up north, I wonder if it has A/C?
He's nuts if he thinks that car weighs 6,200 pounds! Take about 1,900 off that figure and that's MUCH closer! Nice car, though!
Yeah, I think even my '72 Kingswood Estate 3-seat wagon tops the scales at around 4900 (empty). I thought 6200 was a little steep. It sounds like he is going by the GVW on the door sticker.
Curb weight was 4577 lbs. per the sales brochure. If it were loaded with every possible option, it might -- might -- come somewhere close to 6200 lbs, but what are the chances it has power side windows and a manual tailgate window? I like the 351 "Windsor custom or 400 big block". I guess "custom" is a synonym for "modified" (as the 351M is often known as). I'll leave the discussion of big block/small block and Chevyspeak vs. Fordspeak for another occasion. It doesn't look like we're dealing with a car guy/gal, here. It does appear to be a nice car from the photos and the price is quite reasonable.
I think 72kingswood is right; 6200 is probably the GVWR on the door placard (max vehicle weight + towing/hauling capacity). Looks like a really nice car...
