Agreed completely. A beauty, and well-optioned. First year for this body style.

His $7,800 current high bid is already pretty good. I can't see this car drawing much more than the high four figures. As nice as it is, the audience for these is limited.

You really could not expect a nicer looking 40 year old car. Bidding should be interesting to watch.

Ugh, why didn't this one come up for sale when I was shopping? It's so rare an unmolested Caprice comes up for sale in LA. I could have save on shipping lol.

Remarkable condition - particularly on the interior. The Di-Noc is dry and cracking, mostly on the 2 left side doors.

Why is there blue paint on the engine? Shouldn't it be either orange or black?

My mom had a '77 Caprice sedan with the 305, it was blue from the factory also.

I'm a bit tempted to just drive up to LA and give the seller cash; screw the eBay thing. Fortunately for my budget, a few things are stopping me. Like, no garage space. This wagon is quite a gem, but I'm not sure my passengers and I would enjoy the vinyl seats during the summer lol. I like everything else about this wagon though. Hope it goes to a caring home.

Terrific bidding enthusiasm to date for a 1977-90 GM box wagon. They rarely generate this much interest.

Auction ended early late last night - no longer available. Anyone on the forum get it?

76 was the last year for different GM engine colors. 77 & later were all a Corporate color, blue at first then black sometine in the 80's.
It stemmed from the Oldsmobile owners law suite, different colors made it easier for people to notice they ad a different divisions engine in the car.
